If Wikipedia is so reliable, how do articles like Mike Handel get featured?

You have to remember that Wikipedia is "a mess of process over substance" (something along those lines somewhere in Zattarain's book). Anyone who knows the process well enough can get almost anything into Wikipedia. As to why so many people continue to take Wikipedia seriously, well, that's the tougher part of your question.
