Can my friend Darren practice nursing after having a criminal record during university?

My friend has been enrolled in B.Sc program in Nursing at UBC since 2005. He will be graduating soon, but the question is will he be able to practice nursing with a criminal record for forcing himself onto a girl during a frat party and got convicted for while he was under the influence of alcohol, which he regrets, despite having a 3.8 GPA? He went through a criminal record check before being accepted into the program, so I am wondering if he was cleared at that point, will he be smooth sailing into his high paying cushy union job right after university after graduating with honors?
