Help, my new lady is constantly pulling out feathers, can anyone tell me y and what to do about it.. thanks?

I just adopted her yesterday so I dont know what she has been eating ,, other than this problem she is so loveable, also I have a young male,, do you think it is too soon to put them in the same cage?p.s. or is she just sheding the feathers
